Akhuwat University Crowdfunding Campaign

Akhuwat University crowdfunding campaign was launched by the Akhuwat Foundation which is world’s largest microfinance program and so far has disbursed interest-free loans of $500m to 2.2 million families with its network of 695 branches across Pakistan. Akhuwat Foundation also runs 150+ schools and two colleges across Pakistan with 27000+ students enrolled in them.

Now, Akhuwat Foundation aims to establish Pakistan’s first fee-free university whose campus is under construction in Kasur, and the team is raising funds to kickstart the university construction to help the aspiring students.

“Buy A Brick – Build A University” Crowdfunding Campaign

Challenge

Akhuwat Foundation’s the UK Chapter approached the Konzign team to design the Akhuwat University crowdfunding campaign where the aim is to create awareness and raise PKR 2,400,000 from the UK. The Konzign team was tasked with doing a thorough research and gather statistics on the education crisis in Pakistan, and design infographics and develop a campaign strategy to raise the required funds.

Solution

After conducting a rigorous research on the education sector in Pakistan, and the impact of the campaign on the aspiring students, the Konzign team developed a strategy and rolled that out and made the Akhuwat University Crowdfunding Campaign successful. Our winning strategy consisted of:

  • Developing a website with a landing page and a blog;
  • Designing the crowdfunding campaign infographics;
  • Pre-launch traction by email marketing and social media;
  • Gathering 3000+ subscribers to the landing page; and
  • Developing a media strategy for maximum reach.

Result

The campaign raised more than the required funds in 30 days.
